Sleeping Dogs – Interview
Interview with Pete Devine of Pete’s Rock News and Views (http://petesrocknewsandviews.com)
PD: What type of artist are you?
SD: We are the kind who enjoys music and plays music for the people
PD: Tell us the brief history of yourself.
SD: Sleeping Dogs is a band formed in 2017 but has been with the last formation since 2018. We’ve played live shows ever since and on July 7th we released our first single and videoclip called “Broken Man’s Blues”
PD: Who are your musical and non-musical influences?
SD: Mostly blues, hard rock and southern rock musicians and cultures in general That’s our genre as well
PD: What are your dreams and goals?
SD: Just playing music in front of people and make them have a show to remember, make them have a good time, enjoy and understand why music is so important in our lives.
PD: Who writes your songs, what are they about?
SD: Our 1st single was written and composed mainly by our guitarist Vangelis Ziakas and it’s about how music can be the “medicine” to everything that’s bad in your life.
PD: How do you promote your band and shows?
SD: On our social media we promote our shows and try to make people attend to them. After that we give our soul on stage and try to make them become fans of ours. Social media is everything now so we try to promote everything we have through Facebook, Instagram, Youtube and Spotify
PD: What do you think about downloading music online?
SD: Technology is evolving every day. There are not many people that buy CD’s and Vinyls anymore and it’s easy to do it, it’s the easy way to get your music out there the sad part is not the downloading but the lack of appreciation on what you download and the hard work on one song that needs to be done before somebody can just have it with a click of a button
PD: What song do you wish you’d written and why?
SD: Sleeping Dogs by Zakk Wylde and Corey Taylor. It has our name on, kind of the reason we have the name the song and the video clip….
PD: What are some of your pet peeves?
SD: People who don’t get how hard is to be a musician and have the “you just hold a guitar and play songs’ attitude.
PD: What is your proudest moment in music?
SD: Our 1st single “Broken Man’s Blues”
PD: So what are you working on at the moment?
SD: There is a 2nd single on the way which is gonna be part of our 1st complete EP We can’t say more at the moment but stay tuned! There are so many things coming soon
PD: Tell us about your next shows and why we should be there.
SD: Our next scheduled performance is on October 3rd in Athens at Holywood stage. A festival with great bands from our promotion agency Angels PR Promotion. So many great bands from Greece are playing such as Sorrow Path, Project Renegade and Desert Near The End. Great way to start the live shows again!
