Shallow Waves

Shallow Waves

Parallel States of Consciousness is a new step in the progression of Shallow Waves’ sound. A heavily influenced psychedelic rock album that moves away from the alt rock leanings of the early Shallow Waves, this album is also a much more collaborative effort than previous releases, resulting in a massive sound and adding a new dimension to the music. The album was recorded in several studios within Toronto including Taurus Recordings (METZ, The Sheepdogs, Fucked Up).
We just released our second single this year called “Dust.” The song picks up where our last single, “Shapes,” left off, introducing the newer elements of what we expect to showcase on our upcoming mini-album titled Parallel States of Consciousness (out Sept 13th).
The album overall is heavily influenced by psychedelic rock and is a much more collaborative effort than previous releases, which adds a new dimension to the music.
We started as an alternative/60s garage rock band, but in 2017, we started to move toward our current sonic identity taking cues from Toronto’s local psychedelic scene as well as contemporary bands like Wand, Flying Colours, and The Black Angels.
The result is a massive sounding album that represents our progression as a band.
Thanks for listening!
