After the great success of the excellent ‘Hardline’ album and constant tours of Europe and the UK, ROLLINGEXILE have gone back to the studio and delivered a snippet of what is to come in 2019.

Containing four tracks, two new and two familiar favourites, ‘Reflection EP’ is an appetite wetter for any fan of well constructed rock music at its finest.

Kicking off with new track ‘Nevada Midnight’ ROLLINGEXILE immediately give us that familiar rocking vibe, with its beautiful lead guitar intro we are soon treated to vocalist Charlie’s almost desperate vocal as the lyrics tell of a man searching for possibly an answer, a new direction or even hope? A man who has made mistakes and had to burn bridges and is now lost in regret, looking for a way back. I love the way that the emotion in Charlie’s voice draws you in, wanting to learn more about the situation. The lead guitar playing throughout the track is superb and adds so much class to this wonderful rocker.

Second track ‘Shadow Hero’ is the other new track on the EP and mighty fine it is too. The words reveal the tale of self doubt and keeping things inside. We all have that Shadow Hero inside us, it’s just finding the confidence to act on it. Shadow Hero will be amazing to hear performed live, it’s another punchy rocker that will have the audience jumping about with glee.

I am so pleased that the EP includes the original version of ‘I Sit and Wonder’ with the Phil Lynott intro and outro. This is the way the beautiful track should be heard. The version on the Hardline album is great, but the addition of Phil Lynott’s voice adds a certain romance to the song.

Final track is the Fluid Remix of fan favourite ‘Good Morning London’. It is good to hear this reworking of the track that has been so popular for the band. Always rocking, always good to sing along to, it is a great nod to the past and a treat for the listener.

‘Reflection EP’ can be described as a message of hope for the future. The two new tracks sound fresh and vibrant and a positive introduction to the new album. The future is looking safe with these guys.

Reflection EP is released on Oct 15th 2018
