Interview with Pete Devine of Pete’s Rock News and Views (http://petesrocknewsandviews.com)
PD: What type of artist are you?
PO: I guess we’re are just a bunch of regular blokes just writing about regular stuff… but you would call us a indie rock punk band from North Queensland Australia.
PD: Tell us the brief history of yourself.
PO: The band started with Russell, Ray and myself jamming on a Saturday morning, just for fun. We had no intentions of it turning into something. It slowly progressed from there and has been picking up more speed each release. Lachie and Chris joined us during the beginning of 2020. Chris replacing our previous drummer Grant.
PD: Who are your musical and non-musical influences?
PO: I guess for myself I’m a big fan of Australian music including Powderfinger, Paul Kelly and The Whitlams. I guess you could throw ex Prime Minister Bob Hawke in there as well.
PD: What are your dreams and goals?
PO: To be happier than I was yesterday
PD: Who writes your songs, what are they about?
PO: I (James) write predominantly most of them. Ray has been writing quite a few songs recently. They’re basically about common things of life, nothing more and nothing less. Just stories of experience.
PD: How do you promote your band and shows?
PO: We haven’t played any shows recently!! Due to co-void. But just the typical through social media
PD: What do you think about downloading music online?
PO: Yeah it sucks… but unfortunately the world has to progress, and that is just an unfortunate part of progression.
PD: What song do you wish you’d written and why?
PO: Farrrout tough question. For now and today I’d have to say… Kings of Leon Arizona.
PD: What are some of your pet peeves?
PO: If Ray was answering this question he would say hand claps in songs.
PD: What is your proudest moment in music?
PO: I guess playing in band I use to be called the Bacchanales, at Valley Fiesta in Brisbane Australia. One of the best show I have ever played
PD: So what are you working on at the moment?
PO: We are about to release our second EP “1996”, and we are putting the final touches on it now. It’s a six track EP that will be released in March.
PD: What music have you available online and where can we buy it from?
PO: We have six songs available, a few singles and an EP called the “Living Room Sessions”. Available from spotify, apple music and bandcamp etc.
