Pocket Healer – Storm Weaver
Released on 28th February 2018 we have Storm Weaver, the debut single from Long Island’s Bass and Drum Prog Rock band Pocket Healer. The duo consists of Ryan Patterson on Bass and James Ferrara on Drums. Pocket Healer’s first EP was recorded at Vudu Studios in Port Jefferson NY by Engineer Frank Mitaritonna The songs also feature added synth/textures by Bangladeafy Bassist/Front man Jon Ehlers.
On first listen I am immediately impressed, as a lover of Rock music in general I can be quite hard to please when it comes to ‘new’ Prog, but this is good…..this is really good. Loaded with special sound effects and a thumping riff Storm Weaver is tight. It cries of an urgency that keeps you hooked to every note. I was even more excited when I played the track through headphones as the wall of sound seemed to surround me and every little detail became even clearer in this excellently produced piece of art.
Make no mistake Pocket Healer are one of the bands to look out for, you can see them proudly waving the banner that says rock music is alive and well.
