Perfectparachutepicture return with their new single ‘Silhouette’, following on from their previous offering ‘Don’t Bow’.
Their latest track sees them take their alt-rock sound to even greater heights, adding even more dynamics and catchy melodies to accompany their ever developing distorted bass riffs and thrilling percussion. As a result, the song’s message is amplified, with vocalist Kyle Ernest explaining to listeners that we don’t really change ourselves, but the things around us make us different.
Discussing the single, the band shares: “’Silhouette’ is a deep look into yourself, not really knowing what you see. We can recognise our past self, but we don’t really know that person anymore and we don’t understand what it is that’s changed. The heart of the song is about the realisation that we all change as people, but it questions if it’s us changing ourselves, or if it’s the effect of the world around us. The song is melancholic at times but the acceptance in the lyrics, ‘you can’t change who you are, it’s the change around you’ show that sometimes, we just have to accept our fate and roll with it.”
One of Sheffield’s most prominent up and coming rock acts in recent times, Perfectparachutepicture are armed with a catalogue of juggernaut riffs, pounding rhythms and wonderfully catchy melodies. Kyle Ernest (drums and vocals) and Edward James (bass) are the duo that make up this exciting two- piece unit, taking huge strides throughout the UK rock scene with a string of thumping singles, and a live show leaving audiences clambering to see the band again. As a part of the impressive Marshall Live Agency roster, the northern riff makers aren’t ones to leave on in the background.
Their 2021 EP ‘White Walls’ saw the band gain extensive airplay from the likes of BBC Radio 6 Music, Radio X, Amazing Radio, local BBC Introducing shows and worldwide airplay in the USA, France, the Netherlands, Canada, Australia and South America to name a few. The band’s single ‘Idea’ also picked up support from Spotify who featured the song on their ‘All New Rock’, ‘New Punk Tracks’ and ‘The Punk List’ playlists, with the latter featuring the song in the playlist for almost six straight months. Their most recent single released in February of this year went even further and landed the band their first ever Radio 1 play on Jack Saunders’ evening show, and was John Kennedy’s Radio X X-Posure ‘Hot One’ being played four times in two weeks.
