‘Standing At The Altar’ is released March 8th 2023
B-Side ‘The Luckiest Man’ drops March 15th
Though originally starting life as the solo project of frontman Oscar Bryant, the recent recruitment of his band The Bluebirds breathed a new sense of purpose into the project, allowing the five-piece’s popularity to snowball.
Taking the effortless cool of ‘60s and ‘70s pop and injecting it with some contemporary swagger, it’s easy to see where the band’s inherent appeal stems from. Take forthcoming single ‘Standing At the Altar’ and its B-Side ‘The Luckiest Man’ for instance.
Though obviously the product of the same band, the former a woozy, easy-going ‘60s inspired offering that builds towards an optimistic and euphoric conclusion. The latter? A frenetic guitar-driven affair that holds more in common with ‘90s acts such as The Verve or Ocean Colour Scene. Both however, are different sides of the same coin.
Of course, it’s not just on record that Oscar Bryant & The Bluebirds have been turning heads. Recent shows have seen the quintet take to stages across their native Manchester, with headline shows at lauded venues such as The Night & Day Cafe and Manchester Academy 3, not to mention countless others, and with another in the pipeline at Club Academy, it’s obvious that the band are making all the right moves. Expect to see much more of Oscar Bryant and The Bluebirds over the coming months.
