Nouveau Bleach formed when 3 members of a rhythm section got together and realised that they probably needed some guitar and vocals rather than two drummers. From this point the South London trio began to shape a sound drawing on a post-punk sensibility shot through with grunge infected interludes.
Covering subjects such as the Opioid epidemic, Marie Kondo and tokenistic sloganeering, the band’s songs explore social commentary with just a smidge of the darkly comic. All of which is set against the backdrop of a burgeoning comprehension of the loud-quiet dynamic. With both jangly clean tones and distortion aplenty sat over thunderous drums, their sound references the melodic aspects of New Wave with the acidulous observations of bands such as The Fall.
Their debut self titled 4 track EP is set to be released on all major streaming platforms on Friday 5th March.
