Today I review for you an EP that has been blasting out of my computer for the past week or so. “Give Me” is a stunning EP by New Columbia. New Columbia are a 4 piece band from Prestatyn North Wales, they have one goal and that is to put real music back on the music scene. Their music is all original and the lyrics come from the inner soul which is sang with purpose and meaning and with their indie rock n roll attitude. New Columbia are all for the people . Performing at a variety of venues which include Cities like Cardiff, Liverpool, Manchester, Camden,  and Brighton The band comprises of Nathan Graham – Singer/Rhythm Guitarist, Adam Bass – Lead Guitarist, Robbie Lorey – Bass Guitarist and Liam Bateman – Drums and together they offer music with Attitude.

they have one goal and that is to put real music back on the music scene.

So what of the music?

“Give Me” contains four tracks of fresh, modern rock gems that will surely help this vibrant band take a few steps in the right direction.

Opening track “Attitude” kicks things off with a crunchy riff that comfortably carries you through the song. Vocalist Nathan Graham demands to know “What you gonna do about it?” Such an attitude for this young band.  I am excitedly impressed with the solid performance of bassist Robbie Lorey on this EP opener.

“What you gonna do about it?” Such an attitude for this young band.

The band change things a little for the title track, “Give Me”. This is a much more driven sound for the band. This track showcases just how tight a band they are. Liam Bateman’s drums take command in a forcefully hypnotic fashion and the rest of the band just gel beautifully.

“Say What I Say” Again has some masterful vocal work from Nathan Graham, this is a punchy, upbeat number that is brimming with confidence. I particularly love the guitar effects used here. “Mr C” closes the EP, lead guitarist Adam Bass shines on this track as he plays a mean intro as well as some sublime solo work. The track is a high energy rock number with an almost sinister edge…..a great track to finish on.

“Give Me” has some class moments, it boasts four tracks that should be live anthems

“Give Me” has some class moments, it boasts four tracks that should be live anthems for this hard working band. “Give Me” shows us how New Columbia have the ability to complement their influences, rather than just mimic them, a skill that so few new bands seem to achieve.

New Columbia deserve to be listened to and “Give Me” EP is an excellent place to start.
