About Martyr Art
Newburgh, NY industrial phenomenon Martyr Art has been serving up heady, goth-tinged metal for close to two decades. Founded in 2004, Joe Gagliardi III merges his talents as a producer, composer, singer, sound engineer, multi-instrumentalist, and multimedia artist to create a truly unique sonic landscape.
Gagliardi records every instrument and completes the entire production process as well, forging compositions that are all his own. His cinematic works infuse rock, metal, 80s horror, industrial goth, groove, and post-hardcore into an unexpected tapestry of sound. As Allyson Kingsley of SkullsNBones.com put it, “Martyr Art dares to tread beyond normal limits to deliver (music) that many fans of different metal genres will embrace.”
Martyr Art has shared stages with Doyle (The Misfits), Corey Glover (Living Colour), KMFDM, Drowning Pool, Brick By Brick, Moon Tooth, Dissolve, Necroptic Engorgement, Dead Empires, and Nine Inch Nails collaborator Saul Williams. Since its inception, Martyr Art has put out over 30 independent releases, including albums, EPs, singles, remixes, and compilations as well as commissioned works for radio, theater, and commercials. The project’s most recent offerings include a cover compilation featuring songs by John Carpenter, The Cure, and Type O Negative and the thoughtful original single “In the Shadows of Philadelphia”.
Martyr Art is currently sponsored by La Bella Strings, Alto Music, and Clayton U.S.A. Custom Picks. Visit MartyrArt.com to subscribe, stream, and download music.
