PD: What type of artist are you?
MP: I am an Americana, Rock & Country Rocker
PD: Tell us the brief history of yourself.
MP: I started writing songs at age 12 after my first love broke my heart. I have been writing songs ever since.
PD: Who are your musical and non-musical influences?
MP: Musical Influences are all over the place lol:) Growing up I was exposed to a lot of great songs from my parents and Older Sibling. From the Beatles to U2. I was always attracted to the rock husky voices like Bryan Adams, Tom Cochrane, Rod Stewart, Otis Redding, Bob Seger, John Fogerty, John Mellancamp to today’s Chris Stapleton. Non-Musical influences – ummm anyone that bucks the trend and is willing to be brave and stand up for their own truth.
PD: What are your dreams and goals?
MP: Playing, writing, recording and performing music is my dream. and continuing to do it is the goal:) I would love to do a UK tour in Late 2022 or early 2023 as we will be in Sweden in February 2023 and combine some more European dates.
I want to release 1 per year for the next 3.
PD: Who writes your songs, what are they about?
MP: I write the songs and lyrics currently. They are currently about my own spiritual journey and what I learned about myself, the universe and healing.
PD: How do you promote your band and shows?
MP: I have an awesome team around me. My brothers in the band, The amazing Sandy Graham & Jo-Anne Beharrell from Entertainment Music Group team , Eric Alper PR Canada, the Awesome Emma Scott Miles from Pluggin Baby UK, Factor Canada (funding)
PD: What do you think about downloading music online?
MP: I think it is convenient and I wish more people did it to support the artists as streaming sites are designed to focus the income away from the artists in my humble opinion.
PD: What song do you wish you’d written and why?
MP: Man never thought about that before… let’s see If I Can Dream ( Elvis comeback special) because the message is powerful as much as Elvis’ incredible moving performance.
PD: What are some of your pet peeves?
MP: lol ok let’s see… ummmm… oh I have an issue with loud eating noises hahaha
PD: What is your proudest moment in music?
MP: Every time I perform my original music & the audience appreciates it:)
PD: So what are you working on at the moment?
MP: The band is rehearsing for our upcoming Canadian tours for 2022
