Interview with Pete Devine of Pete’s Rock News and Views (http://petesrocknewsandviews.com)
PD: What type of artist are you?
LS: I would say I’m an exciting and energising artist who uses the influences of music legends to fuse with modern sensual soul sounds.
PD: Who are your musical and non-musical influences?
LS: At the top of my list for musical influences will always be Michael Jackson. His influence of his music is in pretty much every piece of I write, especially vocally – and often without me realising. I’d also add Eric Benét, Bruno Mars and Chris Brown’s music as being a big influence on mine. My non musical influences would have to be the lovely ladies that I’ve had the pleasure of being in a relationships with (one in particular being of significant influence).
PD: What are your dreams and goals?
LS: My dreams and goals are to be able to share my music with as many people as possible, because although music is my passion – ultimately as musicians we make music for other people to enjoy.
PD: Who writes your songs, what are they about?
LS: I write and produce all my songs, whether that’s alone or as a co-writer. The subject of my songs is for the most part based around relationships – and generally about the sexual side of a relationship. 😉
PD: How do you promote your band and shows?
LS: I promote my shows mainly through social media and then leave the rest to the promotors.
PD: What do you think about downloading music online?
LS: I think it’s great and I wish it was as popular as it was pre streaming.
PD: What song do you wish you’d written and why?
LS: Justin Timberlake – I’m Lovin’ It, simply for the fact that it’s been the theme tune for the McDonalds adverts for years. What a sync deal that is!
PD: What are some of your pet peeves?
LS: Taking lanes away from motorists and replacing them cycle lane!!!
PD: What is your proudest moment in music?
LS: Getting my first UK Soul Chart #1.
PD: So what are you working on at the moment?
LS: I’m working on multiple tracks at the moment with the plan to release as many as possible over the course of the year.
PD: What music have you available online and where can we buy it from?
LS: My music is available across all major platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music and iTunes – where you can download (nudge, nudge, wink wink!).
