L. A. PROJECT – Interview

Interview with Pete Devine of Pete’s Rock News and Views (http://petesrocknewsandviews.com)

PD:  How would you describe yourself or your band as an artist?

L.A.P: I’m the master mind and composer. I idealize all image, video, logo, and music concept. Guitar player.

PD: Can you tell us briefly about your background – i.e. where you’re from, how you came to make music, etc.

L.A.P: I live in Lisbon, Portugal. I started playing guitar at 12 years old, study classical music and at 17 years old, around late 80s I got my first band Deadwitch and starting to record and performance live. Since then I have try to get a chance to make a band with a unique and special sound. And this is the one.

PD: Who and what inspires you to make music, both in terms of musical and other influences? What do you like to write about in your songs?

L.A.P: My idea is to mix easy going chorus, shred guitar, frenetic drums and a power bass. All the songs are about real life situations.

PD: What are your aspirations as an artist?

L.A.P: Get an invitation to join Frontiers Label.

PD: What is the proudest moment in your music career so far?

L.A.P: We were invited to open for Tim Ripper Owens.

PD: Promoting one’s music is such a challenge these days, especially with so many new artists emerging from bedrooms in the day of the home studio. How is that going?

L.A.P: Is very difficult because many people in music business don’t give a chance to listen my music. We try to do campaign with PR Agency and some Agency are better than others. I try to get a deal with a record label but is not easy on the metal melodic style.

PD: And how do you book and promote your live shows and tours? Any performances coming up?

L.A.P: Nop, we are trying to put out the first EP out and  do some shows to promote the in Europe first.

PD: What do you think about downloading music online? What about streaming sites like Spotify?

L.A.P: I always try to get a cd if I like the band, but sometimes I listen first on Spotify to see if I like. They are useful in that way and also to share many bands in playlist so the public in general can find your music.

PD: What song do you wish you’d written and why?

L.A.P: Maybe Rock Star, because the song deserve it a better arrangement in the way of give a stronger line in the rithm and the lyric are very small

PD: Is there anything you don’t like about the music industry, which you would change if you could?

L.A.P: Nop

PD: So, what are you working on at the moment?

L.A.P: At this moment I’m working on a new song more heavy but very melodic and a new instrumental.

PD: Where can we learn more about you and buy your music/merch online?
