L.A. COBRA

L.A. COBRA
Superstition
Crusader Records
Release: 24 June 2022

L.A. COBRA release new album ‘Superstition’, out now on Crusader Records

L.A. COBRA’s Superstition is a unique contribution to the sleaze/glam genre with massive choruses that will have you singing along to this hit-filled album. Superstition was mixed, mastered and produced by Martin Sweet of CRASHDIET.

Formed in November 2005, L.A. COBRA is the only sleaze/glam/hair metal band on the African continent. They are the “sleaze rocking hair metal stars” from Pretoria (home of multi-platinum rock superstars SEETHER), flying the 80’s glam rock flag from the handlebars of their Harley’s whilst making a name for themselves internationally and locally.

Track By Track:
Strange Desires
The song encourages the sharing of the often secretive desires and fantasies that are kept secret from a lover. The song features a unique yet catchy chorus that takes inspiration from bands like Queen and ABBA yet still features the rough edge of these South African Sleaze rockers. The song features L.A. Cobra guitarist, Slade Sleaze, on vocals in the verses.
Nothin’ Like A Nemesis
We all have that voice inside our head that can direct us into the right or into the wrong direction. For some people this voice is an enemy. This voice can be the nemesis that will force you to make the decisions that are right for you.
The Star
The song is a motivational cross genre anthem, encouraging the pushing of limits in order to win it. When failure’s a toxin and quitting is no option, this relatable, up-tempo, feel-good chorus will encourage everyone to shine like The Star they are.
Superstition
Superstition is a song that cynically questions people and their belief in superstitions.
Untamed
Untamed is an anthem for the young and carefree who wishes to live their lives according to their own rules. It’s about rebellion and independence, being free and wild.
I Want More
I Want More tackles the issue of self harm in order to feel better. Whilst wanting more of a bad thing does not ease the pain, it can sometimes create the illusion of making things better.
Chemical Dependency
A song about the deep and dark hole related to chemical dependency and that the only way out is to ask for help.
She’s My Prison
The South African sleaze rockers delivers this anthemic arena rock single featuring screaming guitars, thunderous drums and bass, and a sing-along chorus in what fans can distinctly recognize as L.A. COBRA. The song revolves around the restrictive nature of a failed relationship.
Inferno
A musical reflection on The Devine Comedy by Dante Alighieri
Kill
A song about the often malicious fall-out of failed relationships where the scorned party is out for the kill.

ABOUT L.A. COBRA
L.A. Cobra has been let loose to cause a rebellion amongst the youth with their revival of the 80’s glam era. Largely influenced by 80’s rock bands like Mötley Crüe, Guns & Roses, WASP and Skid Row, L.A. COBRA is all about girls, Harley’s, big hair and a good time.
The band is: Don Cobra on vocals and guitar, Slade on lead guitar, Ewil on bass guitar and Callie ‘The Animal’ on drums, bringing back those memorable guitar solos and “balls to the wall” hard rock shows we’re all starved for. With a modern twist from their song-writing as we know them, these guys are the real deal, and live rock and roll!
L.A. Cobra and Crusader Records will have a slew of announcements in 2022 including new music, merchandise, tours and a whole lot more…stay tuned.
