Swansea musical giants King Goon are about to change the nations mood. They are set to release their new single ‘Three Cheers For The Fat Italian’ on Saturday May 23rd to a country that has been devastated by an evil pandemic.
This light at the end of the tunnel comes in the form of a track that has been entertaining many a Goon gig goer for quite some time now and it is joined by 3 other tracks ‘The Buyer’, Playing Fields of Eton (Folk Macabre Version) and Three Cheers for The Isolated Vocals.
‘Three Cheers For The Fat Italian’ begins with a frantic marching drum beat that is soon accompanied by the guitar intro until singer Gareth screams “1 2 3 4” and we are off, off on a fun filled work-out that your ears will personally thank you for. The actual song was written about an Anfield pitch invader… I wonder if he knows??
Excitedly, the number has been given the full studio treatment and it really does scrub up well. It still retains the bouncy Ska freshness that you get live, but now it is tighter with wonderful harmonies that urge you to get up off your backside and bounce to the beat. The infectious chorus will have you singing for days and swinging your arms like a lunatic (or was that just me?)
The single is the first to be released from the band’s heavily delayed album appropriately named ”ADMIT NOTHING! DENY EVERYTHING! LIE! LIE! LIE!” that will be out in the Summer.
