Julian’s Lullaby – Interview
Interview with Pete Devine of Pete’s Rock News and Views (http://petesrocknewsandviews.com)
PD: What type of artist are you?
JL: Heavy metal! (with some extra folk and symphonic blend, female and male vocals)
PD: Tell us the brief history of yourself.
JL: Band started in 2006, first demo released in 2008, then many line-up changes occurred and with a completely new one we recorded debut album titled “Dreaming of your fears” released in 2011. In 2017 released 2nd album, “Prisoner of Emotions”.
PD: Who are your musical and non-musical influences?
JL: Hm, classic heavy metal tunes, symphonic music with a folk touch, some rock and any in between. We try various things to keep things interesting and colorful. On the non-musical side, books, movies, stories and personal experiences.
PD: What are your dreams and goals?
JL: Stay healthy and keep rocking!
PD: Who writes your songs, what are they about?
JL: Elias (guitars) does most of the song-writing, George (vocals) writes lyrics and melodies (together with Anna our female singer) and we have another Anna (Spanogiorgou) a writer/ lyricist that contributes lyrics to many songs as well.
PD: How do you promote your band and shows?
JL: We are working with a promotional agency (AngelsPR) plus social media activity of course!
PD: What do you think about downloading music online?
JL: Well, although personal preference will always be the real thing (vinyl and CD) I can understand that online music is the present and future. Problem is that artists are making less and less money from selling music. Having said that though, there are some advantages too, because music production has become far more affordable than ever before.
PD: What song do you wish you’d written and why?
JL: Too many to mention! Maybe “7th Son of a 7th Son” of Iron Maiden and “Lemuria” of Therion to keep it short and sweet.
PD: What are some of your pet peeves?
JL: Hahaha had to google this one! Never replace toilet paper and mouth noises are definitely good candidates!
PD:What is your proudest moment in music?
JL: Our latest album “Prisoner of Emotions” of course, but we are proud of all releases so far. I mean they are all important to us.
PD: So what are you working on at the moment?
JL: Our next album!
PD: Tell us about your next shows and why we should be there.
JL: We are planning some gigs for next year, well just be there!
