Incursion – Interview

Interview with Pete Devine of Pete’s Rock News and Views (

PD:  How would you describe yourself or your band as an artist?

I: We are a tradional Heavy Metal band based in Nashville, TN

PD: Can you tell us briefly about your background – i.e. where you’re from, how you came to make music, etc.

I: We were orignially based in Miami, FL and came together based on our shared love of music

PD: Who and what inspires you to make music, both in terms of musical and other influences? What do you like to write about in your songs?

I: We were heavily influenced by Kiss, Ted Nugent, Anvil, Raven, Venom & Iron Maiden.

PD: What are your aspirations as an artist?

I: We would like to become an artist that is mentioned as one of the top bands of our era.

PD: What is the proudest moment in your music career so far?

I: being able to express ourselves musically that has touched people has made us feel really proud.

PD: Promoting one’s music is such a challenge these days, especially with so many new artists emerging from bedrooms in the day of the home studio. How is that going?

I: We think it’s great that there’s so many people expressing themselves whether it’s in studios or out of their bedroom.  Promoting your music has always been a challenge, but I don’t have a good comparison as to if it’s harder now than when previous eras did it.  I do wish we had something like Headbanger’s Ball now though.

PD: And how do you book and promote your live shows and tours? Any performances coming up?

I: We’re close to having a booking agent and plan on doing some shows in the ear future

PD: What do you think about downloading music online? What about streaming sites like Spotify?

I: While we’re big fans of vinyl, we understand that technology has put us in a different space.  Services like Spotify Apple Music & Deezer certainly can get you heard but I do miss the days when you had vinyl in your house and a cassette or CD in your car.

PD: What song do you wish you’d written and why?

I: Jaguar’s Axe Crazy and Tank’s Heavy Artillery.  They’re both really solid metal songs

PD: Is there anything you don’t like about the music industry, which you would change if you could?

I: I wish fans weren’t so caught up with being into “genres” instead of being into bands.

PD: So, what are you working on at the moment?

I: Just making sure I can get as many people as I can to hear us and writing riffs

PD: Where can we learn more about you and buy your music/merch online?

I: and
