InAir – ‘Pieces’
(Released February 10th 2023)
Bridging the gap between weighty metal and soaring alt-rock, Reading three-piece InAir have made their name thanks to their inimitable ability to offset said weight seamlessly. Drawing from a wide range of influences across the alternative spectrum has allowed the trio to create a sonic palette of constantly shifting sounds and textures that keeps listeners on their toes.
A smattering of well received EPs over the last two years has seen their reputation snowball, with the likes of BBC Introducing and Kerrang! both singing the band’s praises, the latter having awarded their Different Light EP three K’s on its release.
Of course, it’s not just on record InAir have made a name for themselves. Support slots with the likes of Arcane Roots, Press To Meco, As Everything Unfolds and THECITYISOURS show the kind of moves the band are making, while a number of local headlines at both venues and festivals show the regard in which they’re held in.
Looking to emulate the success of last year’s ‘Same Skies’, already their most streamed single to date, and not a band to ever rest on their laurels, InAir are looking ahead to the release of ‘Pieces’, their first release of the year.
Four Minutes of shimmering guitars, atmospheric electronics and an impassioned vocal delivery, it’s the band’s most heartfelt single to date. “‘Pieces’ is about stopping something you love doing to ultimately better yourself.” explains Joe Connely “I wrote the barebones of the song and Connor really helped flesh it out with the electronics”.
A soaring statement of intent from a band who clearly mean business, ‘Pieces’ might well be InAir’s first release of the year, but you know you’ll be seeing much more of them as the year goes on.
