Cambridgeshire-based indie rock trio Idealistics have unveiled their new single ‘Memory River’, out on the 18th September. Produced by Gavin Monaghan (Editors, Ocean Colour Scene, Paolo Nutini), the track is a modern take on 70s glam rock combined with the gleaming, melodic guitars of the greatest of the Britpop era.
‘With ‘Memory River’ I was channelling the attitude of ‘stand back, I’m coming through’, in stark contrast to its lyrical predecessor ‘Red Biro’, which was still full of anger and pain. This song is about respecting my old experiences and moving on, like looking an old ghost in the eye.
As a band, we wanted to channel that energy not only lyrically, but also through the exciting controlled chaos of tangled lead guitars and a vibrant rhythm section.’
Idealistics’ most recent single ‘Scandalous’, from their self-released EP ‘The Rain In Our Eyes’, gathered radio attention and was awarded the number 1 spot in the top 40 radio tunes played by A1(M) Records, out of the 600 tracks played throughout the year.
Their music has received radio backing from indie legend Steve Lamacq on BBC 6 Music and John Kennedy on Radio X, and many other radio stations.
‘MEMORY RIVER’ is available on Spotify, YouTube, Amazon Music, and Deezer.
