Higher Sights release brand new single ‘Wanna Make You See’
Buckinghamshire Indie trio Higher Sights have set the scene for their upcoming summer live dates by releasing a brand new single, ‘Wanna Make You See’.
The track was written by lead vocalist/guitarist Steve Wells for his daughter after a dark time in her life left her feeling hopeless, and he believes that the message can be reused for anyone suffering from mental health difficulties. “There should be no shame in seeking re-assurances of what you mean to others in this world, as I know from first-hand experience…..when you are in the grips of poor mental health, it’s almost impossible to see positivity without friends and loved ones to light the way. Particularly in these trying times” says Steve.
The band are due to play some exciting shows in the coming months including Silverstone Woodlands (Big Top stage) for the F1 weekend (Wed 29th June), The Sunset Lounge Stage at Newport Pagnell Carnival (Sat 2nd July), The Castle Tavern in Luton (Sat 23rd July), Wild Fest in Lincolnshire (Sat 30th July), MK Sports Bar and Lounge in Newport Pagnell (Fri 9th Sep) and The Petri Dish in Aylesbury (Saturday 24th Sep) with more shows to be announced towards the end of the year.
Higher Sights were formed just prior to the Covid pandemic by longtime musical collaborators and best friends Steve Wells and Antony Baker. By adding Steve’s friend John Jeffery to the line-up, the three of them were able to get into a rehearsal room to make some noise and try some ideas. As the pandemic hit, this just brought Steve, Antony and John closer together – resulting in a friendship that makes creating music all the more special.
After finally playing a handful of initial shows in the 2nd half of 2021, Higher Sights went into the studio to record some singles with the incredibly talented engineer/producer Jon Martin in January 2022 and were delighted with the results. You can find the bands’ debut single, released in April called ‘Turn The Screw’ on all streaming platforms, with another single after ‘Wanna Make You See’ due to drop on the 11th of June 2022
