Heart Attack is a heavy metal band from Athens, Greece, that was founded in 2010 and in 2015 released its debut album, “Heart Revolution”. Now, seven years later, the Heart Attack return with their sophomore work entitled, “Final Attack”.

The first thing you notice when you get the album is the artwork. And I cannot but address the mastodon-considering the album’s lyrics- on the cover of the “Final Attack”. Honestly, I absolutely love it and I can stare it for hours. The artwork of the “Final Attack” portrays some of metal’s most famous musicians, while, also, some visual puns that I really want to spoil but I won’t, since you will find out by yourselves listening to the lyrics in the track “Bring Metal Back (Final Attack)”.

And, while the album’s artwork derives from the aforementioned particular track, not all the Heart Attack’s songs share the same theme. In their newest work, the Heart Attack are inspired by the recent social and political events that seem to be shaping a dystopian future and by epic tales and stories.

In their sophomore work, the Heart Attack present a straightforward and clear heavy/power metal sound. While their previous work was leaning more towards the hard rock sound, with the “Final Attack” the band unleashes a work of heavy metal fury and excitement.  Influenced by the ‘80s and ‘90s metal sound, the Heart Attack create upbeat and vibrant heavy metal from back when the music was about fun and joy, as they themselves claim in one of their songs. And truth be told, they actually succeed in making such kind of music, with the “Final Attack” being an uplifting heavy metal album with traditional sound, which gives the listener exactly what is advertised: a massive heavy and epic metal sound, that feels both nostalgic and exciting.

The “Final Attack” is a pretty self-explanatory release. You get what you see, as I already mentioned. And what you get is a huge dose of fiery heavy metal, with a sound inspired by a great era for the metal sound, yet shaped to shine through in the current modern scene. Heart Attack’s sophomore work is a new and exciting one that absolutely deserves our support and our listening time.
