The Rochester doom metal outfit, Goron recently released their standalone single “Farther” on August 12th of 2022. The new single accentuates the band’s doom metal roots, while seamlessly incorporating modern metal production with its enormous guitar tone, powerful drums and crisp and poetic lyrical delivery. Emerging from the Rochester music scene in 2013, Goron has developed a name for themselves as the premiere doom metal act and continue to do so as they gear up to release their follow up release expected Spring of 2023. Goron draws their musical prowess from Skyler Smith on Vocals and Bass, Rick Sterling and Jim Watkins on Guitar and Sam Nells on Drums. While Goron may be composed of tenured musicians, the quartet is certainly destined for great things. Few bands deliver such raw power and energy that “Farther” does and even fewer have been met with such a welcoming reception within the genre.
