Glass Waves – Interview

Interview with Pete Devine of Pete’s Rock News and Views (

PD: What type of artist are you?

Bryn – Hi Pete, Glass Waves are a 5 piece Alternative-Rock band from North Wales, UK.

PD: Tell us the brief history of yourself.

Bryn – We’re a brand new Alternative Rock Band from North Wales , UK. All 5 members of the band have years of gigging and writing experience and have had some success within the industry with various bands.

PD: Who are your musical and non-musical influences?

Bryn – We have so many bands that inspire us, but at the moment, I think the

main influences are Nothing But Thieves / Queens Of The Stone Age / Don

Broco / Foo Fighters. As for non-musical influence, for me I would have to say someone like Tyson Fury who has overcome some real demons and shown real strength.

PD: What are your dreams and goals?

Bryn – Our dream would be to have our music played world wide to thousands of people and to tour with some of our favourite bands. For now our current goal is to finish this E.P before summer next year with hope to tour the new music.

PD: Who writes your songs, what are they about?

Bryn – We all chip in equally to the writing process. We all bring something creative to the table and somehow it just clicks. The songs so far are about real life issues that need to be talked about, an example would be Do It Again are most recent record being about mental Illness and it’s effects.

PD: How do you promote your band and shows?

Bryn – A lot of the initial promotion I did myself for the band but we’ve now hooked up with the awesome SaN PR who are doing a great job. Being a new band, we haven’t had the opportunity to play live yet due to COVID-19, but we can’t wait to get out there and play as soon as we can.

PD: What do you think about downloading music online?

Bryn – I think it’s great as it’s easy to get access to bands this way and to get your music out to new listeners.

PD: What song do you wish you’d written and why?

Bryn- I think it would have to be anything from Myles Kennedy. I can’t choose just one song really! I think he’s a genius and he’s my favourite vocalist ever.

PD: What are some of your pet peeves?

Bryn – Probably when your baked beans leak into your chips and makes them soggy! Haha!

PD: What is your proudest moment in music?

Bryn – I would have to say personally playing on the main stage of LOOE music festival with the likes of Jools Holland.

PD: So what are you working on at the moment?

Bryn – Working on writing new material, finishing our E.P off and promoting our latest single ‘Do It Again’.

PD: What music have you available online and where can we buy it from?

Bryn – We have 2 records out on all digital platforms to stream and available to buy on i tunes store.
