PD: What type of artist are you?
GF: Jose: A musical artist. I’m a song writer and do Lead Vocal for Glass Fortress Band.
Louie: A musical artist. I love any style of music that’s authentic. I used to play multiple instruments, but mainly focus on guitar, learning as many different styles as I can. I’ve recently been working on fingerstyle blues playing, particularly hill country blues.
PD: Tell us the brief history of yourself.
GF: Jose: I was born and now I’m here.
Louie: Great answer, Jose!
PD: Who are your musical and non-musical influences?
GF: Jose: Every piece of music I have heard over the years. Some songs have been directly inspired from other songs such as Bad Day by Fuel is what inspired our song, “I’m Getting Married Dad”.
Louie: Musically, I pick up lots of influences along the way, but I’d say the guitarists that have influenced me the most are Ritchie Blackmore, Johnny Ramone, James Hetfield, Kurt Cobain, Peter Green, RL Burnside, and Magic Sam. non-musical influences: definitely Herb Brooks, George Harrison (yes, I know he’s a musician, but who he was inspired me more than his playing), Muhammad Ali, Jose, and, of all people, Tiger Woods. I know recent details of his personal life reveal some, uh character flaws, if you will, but because of him, I learned that you can go for your dreams no matter who or what you are.
PD: What are your dreams and goals?
B: Jose: I would love to retire from my day job and concentrate on my Beliefs, my Family, and our Music
Louie: Pretty much the same.
PD: Who writes your songs, what are they about?
GF: Jose: We both write songs and add to each other’s. There have been times when I felt emotional about something and we worked on how to describe that in words to fully explain how I felt. For other songs it
will revolve around an Idea and we build up the words around it.
PD: How do you promote your band and shows?
GF: Jose: As an Indie band we have been promoting both by word of mouth and online via Rock Blogs, Instagram, Facebook, and Youtube pages.
PD: What do you think about downloading music online?
GF: Jose: I like that you can share your music with anyone around the world to listen to.
Louie: It’s really kind of a “double-edged sword” you know? It’s wonderful for lesser-known bands, not so much for already-established bands. Though it’s hard to feel bad for millionaires, and it’s a really bad look for an image-driven industry.
PD: What song do you wish you’d written and why?
GF: Louie: Grinnin’ in your face, by Son House. It’s perfect. No instrumentation-only out-of-rhythm hand claps, and the raw emotion of his vocals and the lyrics is something you can’t teach.
PD: What are some of your pet peeves?
GF: Jose: Having to abstain from any dairy on recording days. I love vanilla milkshakes..
Louie: Haha, that’s great. My pet peeve is unnecessary lying. like, if you see someone you haven’t seen in years, and you exchange numbers and say stuff like “oh we must get together and catch up” or whatever, and both people know it’s not gonna happen. Or when a friend or girlfriend breaks plans, then tells you an obvious lie when the truth isn’t something that would offend you.
PD: What is your proudest moment in music?
GF: Jose: We really loved having an up-an-coming drummer in the making do a short and full cover of Supernova. Lola’s Instagram page is @loladrums. To see someone really digging your song was just amazing to see.
PD: So what are you working on at the moment?
GF: Jose: We have a song to be released in February 2021 called First Love. We will be working on re-recording Mothers Smile in the studio soon
