Fragment Soul – Interview

Interview with Pete Devine of Pete’s Rock News and Views (http://petesrocknewsandviews.com)

PD: What type of artist are you?

FS: Hello Pete. Firstly i would like to thank you for this invatation. I believe that i am the type of artist that wants to express his feelings and his way of thinking with the world.

PD: Tell us the brief history of yourself.

FS: I started playing music since i was 8 years old i started with piano. Shortly i moved to violin at the age of 10. After that at the age of 12 i fell in love with the bass guitar and till now i feel the same spark for that instrument.

Also i m a Mathematician and working at this period as a teacher for any student of any grade till university courses.

PD: Who are your musical and non-musical influences?

FS: My main music influnces are bands like Pink Floyd, Rush, King Crimson and bands like Opeth , Katatonia and many more. As non-musical influences i have two scientists that had huge impact for me. Gauss and Poincare.

PD: What are your dreams and goals?

FS: For me the work dream is just the final step of a goal. So i would like to say that my main goals right now are to finish the next album of Fragment Soul and some other projects i m working right now. For example an other project that i can speak about is my collaboration with Anders Jocabsson (Draconian) since we both announced that.

PD: Who writes your songs, what are they about?

FS: The main composers of Fragment Soul are me (Spiros Georgiou) and Jimmy Louvros.

We are really love to compose based on a concept so for example Axiom of Choice is a concept album that represents a journey through romance, torment, fear and, at the end of it, an unexpected tranquility that drives the main characters into despair and deliverance alike.

PD: How do you promote your band and shows?

FS: Exclusively through social medias, Youtube , Spotify ,our Bandcamp and of course Sleaszy Rider SRL our label doing a lot of work!

PD: What do you think about downloading music online?

FS: It depends. My opinion is that if you want to have a “demo listening” about a song or an album its totally ok to listen it through streaming services like Youtube. But the next step is really important if you want to have a more in depth connection with the music. Supporting  bands gives a different kind of emotions when you listening their music and of course the quality of the sound is a different.

PD: What song do you wish you’d written and why?

FS: My Dying Bride – For my fallen Angel. That song is still by my side since i was teenager. Its one of the most emotional songs in the whole metal genre for me.

PD: What are some of your pet peeves?

FS: I believe when a person is dishonest.

PD: What is your proudest moment in music?

FS: The release of Fragment Soul album of course 🙂

PD: So what are you working on at the moment?

FS: the moment we are working for our next album and preparing our selfs for upcoming live shows! Lets see how this pandemic will continue.

PD: Tell us about your next shows and why we should be there.

FS: We want in every show to give an experience to the people that at the end of a show each one to feel a bit different than before.
