Forced Hand – Interview

Interview with Pete Devine of Pete’s Rock News and Views (http://petesrocknewsandviews.com)

PD:  How would you describe yourself or your band as an artist?

FH: We’re just a couple of guys who got together to jam and ended up liking it so much we decided to record it.

PD: Can you tell us briefly about your background – i.e. where you’re from, how you came to make music, etc.

FH: We’re all based out of York Pennsylvania and have been active in the local scene to varying degrees over the past couple decades.

PD: Who and what inspires you to make music, both in terms of musical and other influences? What do you like to write about in your songs?

FH: Collectively we share such a wide array of influences but it all stems from Rock, Blues and Metal.

Currently we’re holding to a concept that will span over several of our releases.

PD: What are your aspirations as an artist?

FH: To continue to enjoy the creative process of writing and performing music.

PD: What is the proudest moment in your music career so far?

FH: For me, it is our latest EP, War. we worked very hard on it and are very proud of what we accomplished with it.

PD: Promoting one’s music is such a challenge these days, especially with so many new artists emerging from bedrooms in the day of the home studio. How is that going?

FH: It’s cool to see so much music coming out and we’re grateful for the technology that makes it all possible.

PD: And how do you book and promote your live shows and tours?

FH: We are new on the scene so luckily we have a great community of bands and musicians who will vouch for us and put us in contact with bookers around our area. We hope that our live performance and music will speak for itself and allow us to meet more bands and grace more stages.

PD: What do you think about downloading music online? What about streaming sites like Spotify?

FH: The more channels to get music out to people the better as long as all the artists are properly compensated for their work.

PD: What song do you wish you’d written and why?

FH: Blinding Lights by The Weeknd because those streaming numbers are ludicrous

PD: Is there anything you don’t like about the music industry, which you would change if you could?

FH: The industry is what it is

PD: So, what are you working on at the moment?

FH: We are currently writing our third EP

PD: Where can we learn more about you and buy your music/merch online?

FH: We are all over the socials. Find us on Spotify, Facebook, Instagram, Bandcamp, iTunes etc etc
