Interview with Pete Devine of Pete’s Rock News and Views (http://petesrocknewsandviews.com)
PD: What type of artist are you?
FM: First of all I want to thank you for your time!
My name is Antonis and I am a songwriter, keyboardist and the producer of my whole musical work. Lately I started making lyric videos for my songs. I hope people find my music enjoyable and interesting.
PD: Tell us the brief history of yourself.
FM: I started to learn music quite older than the usual, around 20 years old. I always had words and melodies in my mind and I started playing keyboards to express myself. As a kid and teenager I used to listen rock, hard rock, metal and electro/pop music.
PD: Who are your musical and non-musical influences?
FM: I like The Beatles, Pink Floyd, WASP, Queensryche, Toto and all Rock/Hard Rock/Metal genre of 60’s, 70’s and 80’s. I like to listen to concept albums and to read horror stories. As a result I wrote my new album…
PD: What are your dreams and goals?
FM: Health to all my beloved people and family and to have time and inspiration to continue to write music.
PD: Who writes your songs, what are they about?
FM: I write my songs. As for my last record, it is based on a story by Myrto Gregoriadi, a young and very talented musician and writer. I dreamed of the main character, Sirin, and Myrto wrote the story for me. It is the struggle of a Princess against her father, King of Mirandor, Morzan and the lord of darkness, Vosar, to free herself and her mother’s soul and bring peace to the kingdom.
PD: How do you promote your band and shows?
FM: Since my recent project, I did it myself. For my last project, I was searching for a promoter and I found Angels PR. I am very happy to work with them!
PD: What do you think about downloading music online?
FM: As a child who raised in 80’s, I like the physical release of a record better. But I have no problem with downloading, moreover I use bandcamp for my music. Sites like this give independent artist a place to present their music to fans.
PD: What song do you wish you’d written and why?
FM: The song I wish I had written the most would be “Eleanor Rigby” by “The Beatles”. The best 2:08 minutes in the history of music. Who would not want to write a masterpiece!
PD: What are some of your pet peeves?
FM: A pet peeve I have is when people move things in my workplace with me not knowing. Another one is when people ask me to find things when even they don’t know where they are, it annoys me.
PD: What is your proudest moment in music?
FM: When I wrote and produced the song “353000” via the project “Unforgettable Homelands”. A song dedicated to the Pontic genocide. Our goal was to make known, one of the most tragic crimes in the modern European history, to those people that don’t know much about it, or have never heard of it.
PD: So what are you working on at the moment?
FM: I am working on a new project/band with an electro rock sound. We want to release our first album and to play in as many live shows as we can. Also, me and my son, are writing the story for the next Forbidden Myth album…
PD: Tell us about your next shows and why we should be there.
FM: Unfortunately, I have no plans for live shows with Forbidden Myth, because it’s a very big project (eight singers) and it’s difficult to find common time for rehearsals. I hope to find a solution and do some live shows in the future, to present the album to the audience.
