Fonzy & Company – Interview
Interview with Pete Devine of Pete’s Rock News and Views (http://petesrocknewsandviews.com)
PD: What type of artist are you?
F: Indie, Rock, Americana.
PD: Tell us the brief history of yourself.
F: We only established ourselves February 2019. Long story short Fonzy wrote an e.p and needed some gorgeous musicians to help and here is the result so far.
PD Who are your musical and non-musical influences?
F: Green Day, Pixies, Fleetwood Mac, Tom Petty just to name a few. All influences are music based, fairly uncultured and deprived us lot.
PD: What are your dreams and goals?
F: Live in the States or Canada, tour with Pixies and Play the Superbowl, both football then half time show then back into football.
PD: Who writes your songs, what are they about?
F: Fonzy wrote this basis of this E.P. It’s about true colours behind people who claim to have the best intentions, rivals who you have more in common with than your friends and living life to the fullest and being the best person you can be.
PD: How do you promote your band and shows?
F: It’s all online, maybe a few posters now and then but everything seems to move online.
PD: What do you think about downloading music online?
F: A blessing and a curse, it’s easier to get the music you want but there is no magic behind it anymore.
PD: What song do you wish you’d written and why?
F: The Chain by Fleetwood Mac. Just an example of song writing and production perfection.
PD: What are some of your pet peeves?
F: When someone says ‘Well it’s better than a kick in the teeth’. Yeah I know, what is that an option? Why is that suddenly an thing? Of course it’s better than a kick in the teeth’ I imagine most things are, grrrrrr.
PD: What is your proudest moment in music?
F: Touring Europe, hope to do it again one day with ‘The Company’
PD: So what are you working on at the moment?
F: More music, a few collaborations and festival season next year.
PD: Tell us about your next shows and why we should be there.
F: Our E.P launch is Saturday 5th October. This may be the only chance you get to see the band live this year, it’s gonna be awesome.
