Having recently celebrated the release of their acclaimed new six-song EP, “Charismanic 2.0,” New Jersey “psycho-funk” rockers Experiment 34 will embark on their first-ever tour to kick off Feb. 23 to 25 at the 21st annual Millennium Music Conference & Showcase throughout Harrisburg, Pa. The tour also will feature a date on March 2 as part of 95.9 the Rat’s Winter Beach Crawl of the Jersey Shore. Then E34 will head south to Music Week in Austin, Texas, and also will play March 10 at Diamond Jim’s Saloon in Arlington, Texas, with Vivid & Vulgar. Additional dates in Austin, as well as Nashville, will be announced soon.

Nominated for Top Rock Band by the 2016 Asbury Park Music Awards, E34 immediately garnered rave reviews for “Charismanic 2.0.”  N.J. Racket said, “‘Psycho funk’ is dead fucking on. Their sound is heavy, with the wild aggression throwing back to ’90s thrash metal fused with the thick bass slinging noise-funk style. (Bassist Johnny) Zabe’s talent is on display nonstop on each and every song. The bass never becomes a background instrument, lazily strumming one-note lines beneath the melody. Experiment 34 use their bass lines as good as any band on the scene, and the correlation between Zabe’s bass and (Kevin) Nenichka’s screaming guitar riffs is truly something to appreciate, especially on premier tracks, like ‘Check Up.’

The beloved You Don’t Know Jersey site raved, ‘Mud’ comes at you with the guitar mastery of Kevin Nenichka whose math rock-courting solo is a fast highlight. Live show favorite “Willie Mays,” is singer/lyricist Matthew Makin’s finest turn on this new set as he empties his bag of tricks to great effect, alternating between singing, rapping, and utilizing his trademark vocal upticks to emphasize certain lines. Charismanic 2.0 caps things off with the Sabbath strut of ‘Joey Crumb,’ an aggressive semi-autobiographical tale of a dubious promoter that did the band wrong one too many times.”

The murderous single “Joey Crumb” is available for free Bandcamp download to new YouTube subscribers, who will receive a redemption code upon subscribing. “Mud” was captured in an explosive live video by award-winning filmmaker William DeVizia, and was preceded by a clip for “Check Up” shot and edited by drummer Jack LaMonica. Both clips were named Video of the Week by 95.9 the Rat’s “Jersey Rock,” while “Mud” premiered nationwide in Guitar World, and “Check Up” was named Video of the Month by New Jersey Stage multimedia magazine. “Check Up”also has been submitted to the Asbury Park Music in Film Festival, which will take place April 20 to 23 in the City by the Sea.

“Charismanic 2.0” also features previously released “3 Days in the Chamber” and “144 Evergreen Place.” The disc is available at Bandcamp and will be coming soon to iTunes, Amazon,  Spotify and other digital outlets.

Experiment 34 also will appear at The Super Bowl of Jersey Bands on Saturday, Feb. 4, at Crossroads, 78 North Ave., Garwood, with their friends in Cook Thugless, Sunny Gang, Camps Nos, Stereo Jo, and Collective Man. This show will include a giveaway of an NFL jersey. NFL players have been invited to attend by Embrace Kids Foundation, who will receive a portion of proceeds to battle childhood disease. Then they will return to Crossroads on March 26 to perform with The Vaughns, who was on the bill for the EP release party, which raised money for the Light of Day Foundation to continue to fight Parkinson’s disease.
