Excursia

Excursia

Loud, ridiculously talented, superbly dedicated. Metal for life!

Excursia was formed in 2015 by 2 best friend guitarists A‘Dan and Sam. They wanted to play music that they just weren’t getting from other modern bands. With their influences mainly being based in 80s thrash (The Big 4, Pantera, etc), they felt that bands have sacrificed melody for the sake of simply sounding brutal. They figured that metal music can have both! They recruited Callum (bass), Lewis (vocals) & Leia (drums) and their journey began (Excursia is Romanian for trip, and the name was picked because what a trip being in a band is!).

2017 saw the release of a 3 track EP with Rise, Burning Through & a cover of Sisters of Mercy This Corrosion. They extended this EP with the addition of Precious – inspired by Lord of the Rings, and Pleonexia (Society Falling) – a soaring ballad that has received much critical acclaim and really showcases the band’s talent. They followed this with Hand of God (which has been used for radio intros), and most recently, Juggernaut, a heavy and haunting commentary on the state of the world’s current political climate. After a few line-up changes, they have settled with Sam (Guitar & Vox), A’Dan (Guitar & Vox), Callum (Bass) & Matt (Drums), and secured some excellent support slots including opening for Alien Weaponry on their recent World tour. 2019 has been superb so far, and in 2020, Excursia plan to conquer the world.
