If you were on the lookout for a new hard/melodic rock release, full of excitement, explosive energy and an 80’s feeling, then the album in review, “My World On Fire”, is the best option fulfilling these standards.

Founded in 2020 as a German-Greek project by the guitarists Konstantinos Markou and Anthimos Manti, the Electrified released recently their debut album “My World on Fire”. Consisting of 12 songs, the Electrified’s first work is an explosive musical journey inspired by the 80’s, balancing on the thin line between hard rock and metal.

While the “My World On Fire” builds its musical narrative upon already well-established and successful patterns without taking many risks, it manages to turn this decision in its favour. By betting and building on the 80’s hard rock nostalgia, the Electrified write and present a collection of 12 singles, offering an album filled with bright and exciting tracks perfect for radio play, parties and live audiences. With their hooking melodies and exciting riffs that bring to mind bands like the Dokken and Bon Jovi, the “My World On Fire” revives, through music, the glamorous age of the rock stars.

Since I made reference to bands that seem to be influential to the Electrified, I will try to be even more specific. The “My World On Fire” is a mix of Dokken, Bon Jovi, Jorn and Alex Rudi Pell. I don’t know if these particular bands have, actually, inspired the Electrified, so feel free to replace them with whichever one you feel more familiar with, that reminds you of the above. Still, the point is that the Electrified present a metalized hard rock sound, that sometimes lean towards the glam rock/metal while others sets upfront its heavy metal background.

The Electrified are introduced in the scene with a great record. The “My World On Fire” is one of the most entertaining and fun rock albums that I have listened so far in 2022, and the one work that I would recommend without second thought to someone, if they were looking for an exciting album. Electrified’s debut is highly recommended and you definitely need to spare some of your listening time for this release.
