PD: How would you describe yourself or your band as an artist?
EH52: We are an indie rock band from Broxburn, West Lothian. We started in late 2021 and since then we have had 2 sell out headline shows (aiming for our 3rd in the next few weeks) and played support act with some amazing artists.
PD: Can you tell us briefly about your background – i.e. where you’re from, how you came to make music, etc.
EH52: We are from Broxburn, West Lothian. We all met in different ways, 3 of us went to primary school together and decided to start a band. We met our lead singer through playing football with him. We have had the same lineup since we started.
PD: Who and what inspires you to make music, both in terms of musical and other influences? What do you like to write about in your songs?
EH52: We all love playing music live to lots of people, this inspires us to keep writing and make sure we can keep doing what we love and of course, entertain the people who like our music. We write about a variety of things but we mainly write about having a great time going out etc
PD: What are your aspirations as an artist?
EH52: We just want to play to as many people as possible and also play the biggest shows and festivals we are capable off
PD: What is the proudest moment in your music career so far?
EH52: Either our first hometown headline where 120 people came out to watch us, or the day our debut single released.
PD: Promoting one’s music is such a challenge these days, especially with so many new artists emerging from bedrooms
in the day of the home studio. How is that going?
EH52: We work very hard behind the scenes with help from various people outside the group to make sure all our promo is done right. Obviously as an unsigned band it’s always hard but I think we do very well for our size of band.
PD: And how do you book and promote your live shows and tours? Any performances coming up?
EH52: We have only really put on our shows ourself with all the planning done within the band which can be hard but is very rewarding. We are doing this again at the end of February when we play our hometown again in Middleton hall on the 25th of February
PD: What do you think about downloading music online? What about streaming sites like Spotify?
EH52: Spotify and all of these streaming sites has helped us release songs since we doing have to spend thousands on CD’s ect and from personalised playlists, it helps the reach of our music
PD: What song do you wish you’d written and why?
EH52: We haven’t really thought about it but I guess maybe an oasis song since they brought so many people joy
PD: Is there anything you don’t like about the music industry, which you would change if you could?
EH52: I can’t replay think of anything at the moment but im sure something will come up in our career at some point
PD: So, what are you working on at the moment?
EH52: We are currently writing our debut ep hoping to be released by the end of the year
