Newcomers DON’T TRY announce debut EP ‘Elvis Is Dead’

‘An adventure into the deep cuts of dark lo-fi, filled with edgy guitars and heavily catchy processed drum beats, vibing to post-punk-meets-experimentalism.’ Melanie Lapierre (London Café CISM 89.3FM)

‘…a nihilistic hell of disaffected vocals buried under a venerable wreckage of barely coherent guitar and drum machine clatter.’ Phil Stiles (Sonic Abuse)

‘…drum machine lead cracking stuff!’ Les Hall (Cutter’s Choice Radio)

New lo-fi noise-rock duo DON’T TRY will release debut EP ‘Elvis Is Dead’ on 31st August

Don’t Try are inspired by drum machine noise-rock and the punk DIY ethos. Partly as a reaction to how unnecessarily long the creative process can take in certain situations, the duo wrote and recorded their debut EP within a month of forming the band. The tracks on ‘Elvis Is Dead’ were captured on a Tascam four-track cassette Portastudio which naturally resulted in their live, lo-fi sound.

The band wish to remain as anonymous as possible, especially at this very early stage, however if people do want to express an interest we would direct them here: https://twitter.com/DontTryTheBand

– words by Buzzhowl Records

One of the Buzzhowl team said, ‘We’re very excited to be putting out this band as our second release. They have a strong DIY ethic and have self-produced the EP on a Tascam cassette four-track. Their post-punk, no-wave, guitars-and-drum-machine sound has roots in bands like Big Black, early Jesus Lizard and Jesus and Mary Chain.’

Pre-orders are available now for the EP on translucent red cassette with full colour inlay and including digital download via Buzzhowl Records.

Elvis Is Dead EP Tracklist:

1: ‘Elvis Is Dead’
2: ‘The Tomorrow Show’
3: ‘Losing Out Again’
4: ‘Breathless’
