Dog Of Man
29th April 2022
Written in the midst of peak paranoia, ‘Hello MI5!’ is a tongue-in-cheek shoutout to internet surveillance and conspiracy theory mania.
We know that they know that we know they are watching us, but which is worse… paranoia or complacency?
Dog of Man, a psychedelic punk band from Brighton who have toured Europe and brought their energetic live show to festivals in the UK, Croatia and the Netherlands, have been described as “dream headliners for an end-of-the-world party.” Their new single, Hello MI5!, was recorded live to tape at Brixton Hill Studios and is taken from their forthcoming second album Everything is Easy.
The video for the song depicts the hunt for truth as a film noir adventure shot on the sly at night in Brighton and at Shoreham Port. It features a mysterious femme fatale, a secret underground lab and a private detective who thinks he’s got it all figured out. But what does it mean? The DIY video packs in all the elements of a feature film, minus the bits that tell you what’s going on. The clues are all there, you just have to find them.
