Interview with Pete Devine of Pete’s Rock News and Views (http://petesrocknewsandviews.com)
PD: What type of artist are you?
DD: We are a Pop Punk Band that takes influence from many different genres and artists.
PD: Tell us the brief history of yourself.
DD: We formed in Feb 2018, we’ve opened for Hockey Dad & Bakers Eddy and we’ve released 13 songs (including the new EP which is coming out Feb 19th 2021)
PD: Who are your musical and non-musical influences?
DD: Musical influences include Neck Deep, State Champs, Hockey Dad and many other pop punk & indie/surf rock artists! Non Musical influences include Food, the outdoors such as surfing & skating and life experiences.
PD: What are your dreams and goals?
DD: We hope to grow a sizable fanbase that allows us to tour the world & do what we love which is being in a band! We also hope to inspire people, have a positive impact and make someone’s day with our music and our lives work!
PD: Who writes your songs, what are they about?
DD: Nearly all of our songs start with Owen, our guitarist writing them (He writes a lot of songs!) and then bringing the song with every instrument on it into rehearsals and then if we like it, we flesh out each instrument part and combine it. The Lyrics tend to be about things that resonate with people such as life experiences, being a teenager and social situations.
PD: How do you promote your band and shows?
DD: Usually by online social media, word of mouth and networking with the music industry and people in general.
PD: What do you think about downloading music online?
DD: Look, it does make your music very accessible but it would be great if artists got more royalties as every artist deserves it! Even helping out your favourite bands by sharing them with your friends and family, going to gigs and buying merch is a great way to support 🙂
PD: What song do you wish you’d written and why?
DD: Face Down by The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus or Misery Business by Paramore! Every Pop Punk fan loves those two songs and they are both so sick!
PD: What are some of your pet peeves?
DD: COVID and also the few people not joining the mosh at gigs!
PD: What is your proudest moment in music?
DD: Either getting played on Triple J or opening for Hockey Dad & also Bakers Eddy!
PD: So what are you working on at the moment?
DD: Other than the new EP, more songwriting and getting more people to listen to our stuff!
PD: What music have you available online and where can we buy it from?
DD: Our New EP ‘Goodnight’ is out Feb 19th 2021 and you can check out our social media pages and listen to our stuff on this link! https://linktr.ee/Dial.Denial Huge thanks to Pete for making this happen!
