Dhaliax – Interview

Interview with Pete Devine of Pete’s Rock News and Views (

PD: What type of artist are you?

D: We  are a Heavy Metal with Hard Rock, Thrash Metal and Power Metal influences band. We have been defined as German metal like-ish. We aim to sound like the classics of heavy metal, but with a modern-like sound. We think we got that done with our first album.

PD: Tell us the brief history of yourself.

D: Dhaliax was created by Enyd (lead guitar) and Marc (rhythm guitar) in 2015, while they were playing together. Different band member joined and went. Then there was Kuido, who stayed as vocalist.

The first two songs of the band were Chandrian and Blood on fire, it was Chandrian that defined the band’s name afterwards. It would not be until 2019 when joined both Alex and Xavi, on drums and bass respectively, and the band would finally be complete and able to undertake the challenge of their our studio album called “Blood on Fire” which was recorded at PlyGrnd Studio, Barcelona.

PD: Who are your musical and non-musical influences?

D: We have tons of different influences in our band, we’re talking different styles we like. For example Xavi, our bass player, has always liked Michael Jackson beside all metal bands and artists. Also Megadeth, Trivium, Avenged Sevenfold, Amorphis, among other metal bands. Kuido, our singer, always loved the real heavy metal “oldies”, like Black Sabbath, DIO, Heaven and Hell (he loves Dio), Judas Priest and Scorpions, as well as not-that-old Iron Maiden. Marc, rhythm guitar, start listening to Hard Rock and bands like AC/DC, later he began to listen all kind of metal bands. From classic heavy-metal like Kuido, or thrash-metal bands like Megadeth, Slayer, Pantera, Trivium… including death-metal bands like Arch Enemy or In Flames.

PD: What are your dreams and goals?

D: We were presenting our first album “Blood on Fire”, playing on several places around Barcelona. We’d love our music to be known in the metal community nationally and internationally, make shows in all of Spain and play outside of it. Our objective now is to work on our second music video and keep playing “Blood on Fire” this 2020, and, of course, keep having a blast while doing it.

PD: Who writes your songs, what are they about?

D: Kuido, mainly…
Our songs talk about some shit I went though, and everyone will go through some way or the other, with aggressive and annoying kind of feelings. Like rage and impotence and fear and acceptance of death. He wrote that.

PD: How do you promote your band and shows?

D: We are using social media, of course, like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, on our own.

PD: What do you think about downloading music online?

D: Luckily nowadays this seems to have changed, you can still listen to that band or artist without paying a dime (using Spotify or Youtube or whatever) and the artist still gets money for that, so it is really a waste to download “illegally” the music.

PD: What song do you wish you’d written and why?

D: What? Are you serious? We wrote what we wanted and had a blast doing it! 🙂  whatever we wanted to say, we said it (for now)

PD: What are some of your pet peeves?

D: Kuido finds that people stand in the way waaaaaaaaaay too often!
But seriously now, as a band, we are not happy with the current situation in our country where finding places to perform our show for bands like us is hard and sometimes expensive. It should change and they (the government) should support more the bands and culture in general.

PD: What is your proudest moment in music?

D: Maybe it’s being able to play along some great bands from Spain and seeing all the community coming together both on and in front of the stage. We have some fond memories from last show in Monasterio venue.

PD: So what are you working on at the moment?

D: Right now we are trying to promote as much as possible our first album and we have no plans of releasing new music in a short time. However, we just released few weeks ago a self-recorded acoustic version of one our songs, ‘Chandrian’ playing from our houses due to the lockdown ( Also, we are looking forward to the end of this awful situation and being able to go back to the stage and perform our shows in a tour.

PD: What music have you available online and where can we buy it from?

D: We have our first album live, along with our music video of the single “Mercenary” ( Also you can listen to the full album for free on:
