Deathcraeft – Interview
Interview with Pete Devine of Pete’s Rock News and Views (http://petesrocknewsandviews.com)
PD: What type of artist are you?
D: We are mainly a death/thrash metal band that also borrows elements from other genres of metal like speed or black.
PD: Tell us the brief history of yourself.
D: The band was created by guitarist Kostas Kalampokas who composed and recorded the first album as a personal project, along with the help of vocalist Nikonas Tsolakos and progressive death band Echidna’s drummer Giannis Chionidis.
PD: Who are your musical and non-musical influences?
D: The musical influences come from the golden era of metal, the 80s and mid 90’s, the time we were growing up. For non-musical influences we would say writers like H.P.Lovecraft, Clark Ashton Smith, sci-fi movies and comics.
PD: What are your dreams and goals?
D: Create good music!
PD: Who writes your songs, what are they about?
D: The songs are written by guitarist Kostas Kalampokas and although they are based on the Cthulhu mythos created by writer H.P.Lovecraft, they deal with many sociopolitical issues humanity is facing throughout its history.
PD: What song do you wish you’d written and why?
D: Judas Priest’s Painkiller! A great song with a monstrous sound that goes along with it. When the composition is reinforced by the sound then you have something truly unique – something that doesn’t happen very often nowadays, with productions having more or less the same generic sound, produced by amp sims, cab impulses and drum libraries.
PD: What is your proudest moment in music?
D: The creation of our debut album!
PD: So what are you working on at the moment?
D: Trying to form a steady line-up for the band and start doing shows.
PD: Tell us about your next shows and why we should be there.
It will feature great music!
