Death Ingloria – Interview

Interview with Pete Devine of Pete’s Rock News and Views (

PD: What type of artist are you?

DI: Death Ingloria creates metal, comic art and animations exploring Humanity’s inglorious demise one story at a time. Essentially, we imagine the worst, so you don’t have to.  Each album is accompanied by a full sci-fi story told through a comic book. Come check it out. It’s pretty epic.

PD: Tell us the brief history of yourself.
DI: I was trying to start a band for more years than I care to admit.  I went through 5 bass players and 12 drummers only to decide to go it alone. So for the first 3 years of this project I was a one human show. Now I have a band.  Co-Conspirators. Space Travellers that accompany me on this journey.  It’s nice to have company as this life, it ain’t right for everybody.  Everyone would do it now if it was easy.

PD: Who are your musical and non-musical influences?

DI: Coheed and Cambria are pretty much responsible for the creation of Death Ingloria.  I’ve seen them 19 times, managed to watch from the side of stage both at Glastonbury and Reading festival and even owned the handbag at one point.  We are similar and yet different enough to make a great support band for C&C.  You know… just in case The Universe is one of your readers.

Non musical – Queen Elizabeth The First. What a kick ass lady. Ruled in a time of madness.

PD: What are your dreams and goals?

DI: When people ask this I can only describe it in terms of other bands I’d like to emulate.  Those bands would be Wyld Stallyns, Deth Klok and Disaster Zone. The 3 greatest bands ever created in the minds of the masters.

PD: Who writes your songs, what are they about?

DI: Galina Rin writes the songs. The songs and comic stories are all true-life experiences bound together and magnified upwards through a lens of science fiction. Our upcoming release Death Ingloria II: Death By Admin follows Humanity’s demise through the eyes of one lonely and disconnected office worker as he accidentally destroys the world via a series of minor admin errors.
The question here is why should anyone care about the lowly life of an office worker? You are probably already living that reality.

Well, I ask you, have you ever wished the world away to save yourself from one, more, day of drudgery in a job you hate? In Death Ingloria II: Death By Admin we’re going to explore that very feeling to it’s terminal conclusion.

PD: How do you promote your band and shows?

DI: We play a lot of comic cons and other geek events.  Also a lot of live streaming thankfully there is a large online audience for what we do so it keeps us pretty busy 🙂

PD: What do you think about downloading music online?
DI: Downloading music is great.  We don’t make CDs so all of our music comes in the different and interesting digital forms.  For Death Ingloria II: Death by Admin we have created a custom ID card and through that people get access to a members only website where all the music and videos live.  We’re all about the digital way of life.

PD: What song do you wish you’d written and why?
DI: I don’t wish I’d written anything I didn’t write.  Life is suffering enough already without wishing for things that can not be.

PD: What are some of your pet peeves?
All my peeves are internal.  I hate so much of myself that it gets harder each year to lift the veil high enough to be annoyed by other people.

What is your proudest moment in music?

DI: Opening The Cyberdrone at BoomTown Fair in 2019 was pretty epic.  A 15 metre 360 project Dome with a stage in the middle.  Anime Epic Overload!

PD: So what are you working on at the moment?
DI: Our newest album will be out in August and we are working on our Live Listening Party which is in London on 30th July.  It’s also going to be livestreamed so anyone across the word can watch it.  Tickets are available on Bandcamp along with all the new music and other merch.

PD:  What music have you available online and where can we buy it from?
DI: We have our first album The Wolf Onboard (which also has a comic), The Wolf Onboard (Acoustic Album) and a couple of off album singles on spotify.
Everything can be bought on Bandcamp
