Were You Even There by Cold Water Swimmers released on January 6th 2023
Cold Water Swimmers unveil new music for the first time in 18 months with “ Were You Even There” on their own DIY or DIE label. The song written by guitarist and vocalist Chris Bridgett is the first song to be released from the band’s forthcoming second album, which is scheduled for a release in 2023. Cold Water Swimmers debut album Holiday at the Secret Lake achieved the number 9 slot in the 100 albums of 2021 from Louder than War, an incredible achievement for a 100% DIY release, so expectations are high for album number 2
“it’s got real Noel Gallagher songwriting brilliance about it, coupled with that jangly melody that puts me in mind of the likes of The Coral, a sort of retro 60’s vibe to the music couple
with deep lyricism” – Sally Newman – Songbird
With early support on Manchester XS this is a great track which should open the band up to more radio support and the wider audience the music deserves.
The song was recorded at 6DB studios with Simon Ding Archer in August 2022, produced by
Chris Bridgett and Simon Ding Archer and was mastered by Pete Maher
