Interview with Pete Devine of Pete’s Rock News and Views (http://petesrocknewsandviews.com)
PD: What type of artist are you?
C: We’re a kick ass alternative rock band.
PD: Tell us the brief history of yourself.
C: Band formed around 2018, 5 members of previous line ups from South Wales music scene. We started to form our sound around heavy guitars, epic synths and amazing vocals.
PD: Who are your musical and non-musical influences?
C: Musical influences range from Nirvana, U2, Daft Punk to Bring Me The Horizon. Non musical interests are Film, Sci-Fi, Anime, music documentaries.
PD: What are your dreams and goals?
C: Not sure we dream about things, I think we’re quite grounded. We just want the music we create to reach as many people as it can. If that’s by playing big shows or hitting great radio stations that play new and interesting music so be it.
PD: Who writes your songs, what are they about?
C: uuugghhh hate talking about what our music means, just listen to it and figure out what it makes you feel. We’re all human and will, or know someone who has experienced what we’re talking about in our music. We prefer for the listener to decide how our music speaks to them personally.
PD: How do you promote your band and shows?
C: Mainly through social media we’re on all the usuals, Facebook, instagram, twitter etc etc.
PD: What do you think about downloading music online?
C: As in illegally? Illegally downloading music is not good especially when you have free access through streaming services (I know the adverts are annoying). I guess everything is kept in a cloud these days and that only real collectors of music still buy physicals. There’s no doubt the CD will die out with the generation that can’t move over to using the internet or are too scared to use a debit card online. So sooner or later it’ll all be streaming services and vinyl.
PD: What song do you wish you’d written and why?
C: Tough question… Today it’s Paranoid Android… I mean what an incredible arrangement with incredible guitar sounds… Tomorrow it’ll be something different like… Oh I don’t know, Immigrant Song perhaps. There are soooooooo many songs I wish I could have been a part of writing, that’s why we write and record our own songs to try and attain the same creative feeling of those who created the music that inspired us to try.
PD: What are some of your pet peeves?
C: Scaremongering capitalists and Tax evasion, the 2 usually go hand in hand.
PD: What is your proudest moment in music?
C: I guess producing our E.P and making 3 music videos completely DIY and the songs being played on Kerrang! Radio.
PD: So what are you working on at the moment?
C: We are working on new material. We have new songs and we’re just going through them and making them the best they can be. It’s definitely going up a whole other level in camp CATALYSTS.
PD: What music have you available online and where can we buy it from?
C: All the usual digital streaming outlets and downloads. We’re currently looking to print a few CD’s but these will be very limited.
