Captain Zero – Interview

Interview with Pete Devine of Pete’s Rock News and Views (http://petesrocknewsandviews.com)

PD: What type of artist are you?

CZ: We are a noisy hard rockin’ power trio from Bristol England

PD: Tell us a brief history of yourself.

CZ: We started the band in 2021 off the back of a few demo’s Steve (Bass) had written.

This year we played a load of gigs and started recording our debut album in Dave’s (Guitar/Shouting) studio The Freq Factory that we are looking to release next year, do many more gigs and spread the word.

PD: Who are your musical and non-musical influences?

CZ: Our individual influences are varied but our common ones are Smashing Pumpkins, Black Sabbath, Nirvana, Kyuss, MC5 & S Club 7. The main influence on Steve outside of music is the Irish MMA star Conor Mcgregor.

PD: What are your dreams and goals?

CZ: Our main goals are to release our album on vinyl, gain many fans and tour loads.

PD: Who writes your songs, what are they about?

CZ: Steve writes most of the music and Dave comes up with various things to shout about which are usually to do with things that annoys him about the world we live in. Very cathartic.

PD: How do you promote your band and shows?

CZ: We mainly use Bandcamp, Facebook, Instagram & the lovely Lisa at Knight PR for our promo needs.

PD: What do you think about downloading music online?

CZ: Downloading music is great, use bandcamp so the bands get more of the money!

PD: What song do you wish you’d written and why?

CZ: Kick Out The Jams by MC5 as it is a total banger that encapsulates the true meaning of being in kick ass a rock n roll band.

PD: What are some of your pet peeves?

CZ: Pet peeves: Useless politicians, rude people, lukewarm beer.

PD: What is your proudest moment in music?

CZ: The release of our first single BULLSEYE is our proudest moment so far.

PD: So what are you working on at the moment?

CZ: We are currently working on our debut album which will be released next year.

PD: What music have you available online and where can we buy it from?

CZ: Our debut single is available at https://captainzeroband.bandcamp.com/
