GLASGOW POST-PUNKS BOOK KLUB
RELEASE NEW SINGLE – ‘LIFE OF ME’
Disobedient Records
Release: 25 June 2021
Glasgow-based post-punk outfit Book Klub are pleased to announce the release of their latest single, ‘Life Of Me’.
Commenting on the track, the band said: “‘Life Of Me’ is centred around a friendship, someone who’s caught in an impossible position and is willing to do terrible things to fix it.”
Emerging from the Scottish music scene, Book Klub are a four-piece from Edinburgh, laced with influences from shoegaze, noise-pop and post-punk. Urgent vocals and confessional lyrics are ably backed up by a backdrop of pounding drums and sporadic, noisy guitars.
Since their debut in 2019, the band have developed a cult following in the gigging circuits of Edinburgh and Glasgow. Their time as a band so far has seen them release three singles ‘Care’, ‘Somni’ and ‘Deathbed’ and play venues such as Sneaky Pete’s, The Caves, The Hug And Pint, and King Tut’s, plus support slots under their belt for Yak, Cheap Teeth, and VLURE. They have an upcoming slot at this year’s Stag & Dagger festival and are due to play their first London show in July. Book Klub have been working quietly over the last year, with whispers of a larger project on the horizon.
