Interview with Pete Devine of Pete’s Rock News and Views (http://petesrocknewsandviews.com)
PD: What type of artist are you?
Sven Biwo: More a Fan then an Artist. I love the spirit of True Heavy Metal. No music can release so much emotion then Heavy Metal. Remember the moments when you raise your fist in the air and scream on a live show. It is the greatest gift on earth.
PD: Tell us the brief history of yourself.
Sven Biwo: I make music over 10 years and had a lot of ideas. 3 years ago, I found some guys on a benefit concert. But then came the covid thing and everything stopped before it really begins to start. So, I do the whole Record on my own. That´s how it started.
PD: Who are your musical and non-musical influences?
Sven Biwo: My musical influences are the music of Manowar, Iron Maiden, Majesty and Iced Earth. My non-musical influences I make from my own experiences and impressions. I am not the type of man that read a book or watch a movie and after it finished, I have millions of ideas.
PD: What are your dreams and goals?
Sven Biwo: To be free and to do the things I love. Many of us are prisoners of society.
PD: Who writes your songs, what are they about?
Sven Biwo: I write all songs on my own. It’s a personal album with very personal themes. It’s about life and death, fears and needs, and the ever-present struggle with oneself and the world. It was important to me to use direct language and not to hide everything in some story.
PD: How do you promote your band and shows?
Sven Biwo: It is a mix of local and social media promotion. I have a friend (Markus Eck) who helps me. It is a great experience and it’s really exciting because it is the first time for me.
PD: What do you think about downloading music online?
Sven Biwo: It´s a blessing and a curse. But I found a lot of new bands from streaming and when I like the record, I buy the vinyl or cd. I was able to get to know a lot of talented bands from South America through streaming. But the problem is, no one buys the music.
PD: What song do you wish you’d written and why?
Sven Biwo: Believe me or not, but there is no song I wished I have written. I write my own songs and not look to other artists with a crying eye.
PD: What are some of your pet peeves?
Sven Biwo: Driving too close to the car in front.
PD: What is your proudest moment in music?
Sven Biwo: The long journey and the million little steps who where needed to release this album.
PD: So what are you working on at the moment?
Sven Biwo: Currently we rehearsal a lot and make a lot of promotion. So, we prepare to go on stage as fast as possible.
PD: Tell us about your next shows and why we should be there.
Sven Biwo: There is no upcoming show but believe me, we will kick ass soon.
