Philly death metallers BASILYSK unveil their gritty performance video for “Sad State of Art”  this week on Metal Injection.  The band says, “If ‘Sad State Of The Art’ doesn’t make you move, you must not have a pulse. We created this music video with Liam McGlynn to showcase our live intensity, especially as we prepare to hit the road this summer.  Special thanks to Ivan at the Building in Coplay, Pennsylvania, for allowing us to film in his DIY venue.”

And in the words of MI columnist Greg Kennelty, the video “kicks some serious ass.”

“Sad State of Art” is off Basilysk’s recent debut album Emergence, described as “bold” and “unrelenting” by reviewers. The band has several East Coast dates this summer in support of Emergence with Philadelphia brothers in arms Necrosexual and Bloodspore.

Death metal band BASILYSK have released their new song “Sad State of the Art” via KERRANG! The track is taken from their new album Emergence which will be released this Friday.

The band commented “Sad State Of The Art is our bite at the music business from our perspective as hungry outsiders. Basilysk is here. Our teeth are sharp. We’ve only just begun to carve our name into the flesh of posers and wimps, with the release of this album”

Death metal band BASILYSK have teamed up with Ghost Cult to reveal “Clouds” a bonus track from their upcoming album Emergence.

The band commented: “Clouds” is a hidden track at the end of our Emergence album. Fans who buy our CD will be treated to this gem of an instrumental, that is filled with masterful guitar performance from our frontman Josh. We wanted to showcase this song, because it merges our signature style of barbaric, old school death metal with a guitar solo that ultimately sounds uplifting and euphoric. Good feelings, indeed. May these riffs take you to the clouds and beyond.”

About Basilysk:

Formed by vocalist and maniacal guitarist Josh Perrin, Basilysk released their first album Seasons of Misanthropy in 2012. The band reignited with a new line up in 2016, and quickly scorched the East Coast with their style of ferocious guitar compositions, frenetic drums, and intensely personal lyrics. Basilysk’s complex song structures lead the listener through a serpentine maze, with a palpable sense of aggression at every turn
