UK based alternative rockers Bad Llama released their latest EP “Shedding Skin” in September 2016. Having been featured several times on Kerrang Radio the Burton Upon Trent band have a gem of a release here which dips its toe into the waters of many different genres of rock.

a wall of sound that will surround you in an almost threatening way

The EP contains 5 tracks and showcases the talents of this band formed back in 2012. EP opener “The Healer” with its eerie beginning soon builds into a wall of sound that will surround you in an almost

threatening way. The heavy rhythms explode into a beautiful chorus. “The Wolf You Feed” is next. I especially like the way the drums  and bass sound throughout the track as they thunder along. Again the chorus erupts and the guitars scream heavy riffs in this atmospheric blaster. This is a great choice for a single, I’m so glad the band released it. “Paint In Sound” follows, the opening of which reminds me of the Foo Fighters. It soon changes pace to become a masterpiece of modern rock as Vocalist Kyle Jordon screams “Give me something to live for” ….fantastic!

“10 Years Time” reveals a bit more depth to the band. The slower paced start builds to a fist waving monumental chorus. This is a great track with very emotional and tenderly sung lyrics. “Exile” is for me the EP’s standout track, the power that is delivered here is immense. The desperation in the vocals, the alluringly gracious playing as the track escalates into a sublime mixture  of rock awesomeness, is a wonder to behold.

Bad Llama are an exciting band that can deliver, this ‘must listen to’ EP is proof in itself.
