About Age of the Wolf

Formed in 2014 as a stoner rock-oriented act, Age of the Wolf released a self-titled EP which was nominated for Best Hard Rock Release in Costa Rica’s ACAM Awards.  The track “Memorial” was featured in Flying Elephant’s Sessions at Botica Solera, a high-profile Costa Rican music spotlight series, as a result of winning a contest among several national bands.  Overall, the EP has helped create a fan base and has allowed Age of The Wolf to play around the country in a regular basis.

The composing sessions for the debut album Ouroboric Trances began in early 2017,  with the band taking time to craft and blend their original sound in a thick wall of fuzz, harsh vocals, and slower tempos.  The album was recorded live at Bushido Audio Studios in Cartago, Costa Rica by sound engineer Juan Pablo Calvo.  The album is setting a new step in the sound of the band, focusing on the most organic, aggressive, and versatile side of Age of the Wolf.

Costa Rican doom metal band AGE OF THE WOLF have signed with Aural Music to release their new album Ouroboric Trances on May 10 2019. The album will be made available on CD, vinyl and digital formats.

The band commented “we are excited to sign with the ever-growing Italian label ‘Aural Music’. This is a big step for the band and the entire country, since this is the first band in it’s genre to be signed by an international label in Costa Rica, and now with the momentum, the band’s not planning on stopping anytime soon.”
